Makkah International Dental Conference 2023 Features Key Scientific Sessions On Dental Health
The 18th Makkah International Dental Conference and Exhibition, held from October 24 to 26, drew many attendees interested in oral and dental health. The event featured numerous scientific sessions, each focusing on different aspects of dentistry. Participants engaged in discussions about the latest advancements and techniques in dental care.
One session was dedicated to cosmetic dentistry, specifically enhancing veneers' aesthetics through comprehensive gum preparation. Topics included modeling posterior occlusal fillings with rapid prototyping technology and composite filling techniques. The session also delved into selecting CL II matrices for restorative modifications and explored posterior indirect adhesive restorations.

Another session concentrated on gum health, covering "Endometrium Diagnosis and Treatment of Gingivitis." It addressed vital pulp treatment, managing failed pulp treatments, and diagnosing periodontal diseases using the 2018 classification system. Surgical crown lengthening techniques for successful veneers were also discussed.
Advancements in Dental Implants
Dental implants were a key focus in another session. Discussions included bone grafting in implant dentistry, current trends, timing of implant placement, and risk factors. Factors contributing to implant success in diabetic patients were examined alongside implant dentistry without grafts and lip aesthetics.
Modern Dentistry Challenges
Sessions also tackled challenges in modern dentistry and pediatric orthodontics. Hybrid orthodontic treatment was introduced as a new approach to enhance results while maintaining aesthetics. Interactions between orthodontic disorders and temporomandibular joint disorders were explored.
Pediatric Orthodontics Insights
Pediatric cosmetic dentistry topics included BioFlx crowns and restoring posterior proximal contact using simple orthodontic movements with flexible separators. A case report illustrated these techniques. Current trends in treating molars affected by molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) were also covered.
The conference aimed to be a platform for professionals to advance scientific research through competitions for the best studies. Workshops and educational programs gathered industry experts under one roof, making it one of Saudi Arabia's largest dental conferences.
