Makkah Prepares For Ramadan: Enhanced Services For Umrah And Prayers
In a significant move to enhance the spiritual journey of worshippers during Ramadan, government agencies in Makkah have initiated the implementation of comprehensive programs and plans. These initiatives are designed to manage the increased influx of worshippers performing Umrah and offering prayers at the Grand Mosque. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has rolled out its operational plan for the Ramadan season, aiming to provide visitors with a distinctive experience characterized by superior standards, exceptional quality, and unique services. This strategic approach is focused on facilitating worshippers in performing their rituals in a profoundly spiritual atmosphere.
To ensure the Grand Mosque's operational efficiency and maintenance, numerous services have been put into action. These include improvements in lighting, ventilation, air conditioning, and restroom facilities. Direct services such as cleaning, distribution of Zamzam water, provision of iftar meals, assistance for the elderly and people with disabilities, funeral arrangements, crowd control, and designated prayer areas are readily available. Additionally, worshippers can avail themselves of services like distribution of copies of the Quran, inquiries support, Itikaf (religious seclusion), religious lessons, and Tawaf services. For those seeking knowledge-enriching experiences, visiting libraries, exhibitions, and the kiswa factory for the Holy Kaaba is highly recommended.

Special attention has been given to worshippers in the outer courtyards and inside the Grand Mosque. Sorting points for visitors and Umrah performers have been established at entrances to streamline their access and convenience. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance branch in Makkah has also started executing plans to welcome worshippers in mosques across the region. To accommodate the needs of worshippers during Ramadan, additional supporting mosques have been opened, with many operating round-the-clock.
This concerted effort by government agencies in Makkah underscores their commitment to ensuring that worshippers can perform their rituals and worship in a serene and spiritual atmosphere during Ramadan. By providing high-quality services and unique experiences, they aim to make this holy month a memorable and spiritually fulfilling period for all visitors.
