Makkah To Host Key Islamic Conference Aimed At Promoting Moderation And Tolerance

Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawa and Guidance will hold the Executive Council meeting. This meeting is in preparation for the ninth conference of ministers of awqaf and Islamic affairs in the countries of the Islamic world.

The conference will focus on promoting moderation principles and values. Ministers of awqaf and Islamic affairs, along with muftis and heads of Islamic councils from over 60 countries, will attend. The theme revolves around consolidating these values within their respective communities.

Participants will engage in 10 working sessions covering various topics. These include a renewed concept of religious address to promote moderation, confronting extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism. They will also discuss immunizing society against hate speech and extremism.

Another significant topic is spreading tolerance and coexistence values. The conference aims to address Islamophobia and explore how awqaf can boost gross domestic product (GDP). Additionally, they will examine how endowment funds contribute to development and investment.

The role of awqaf in economic growth is crucial. Discussions will highlight how endowment funds can aid development and investment. This aspect underscores the importance of financial contributions from awqaf to national economies.

Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their support. He acknowledged their significant interest in this conference's success.
