MoIAT Expands Make It In The Emirates Awards With New Categories And Opens Nominations
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has unveiled the third edition of the "Make it in the Emirates Awards." This initiative honours individuals and organisations that have significantly impacted the UAE's industrial sector. This year, the awards have expanded to 15 categories, grouped under five pillars: In-Country Value, Factory of the Future, Industry Enablers and Strategic Partners, Leadership and Talent, and Handcrafts.
For the first time, a category dedicated to handcrafts is included, highlighting the UAE's heritage and local talent. Nominations are open from 11th February to 21st April. The winners will be announced at the fourth Make it in the Emirates Forum on 19th May at ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi. Senior government officials, industry leaders, investors, and funding bodies will attend this event.

The awards aim to foster a competitive environment by encouraging companies to adopt advanced technologies and best practices. This initiative helps boost competitiveness locally, regionally, and globally. The evaluation committee ensures accuracy and transparency in selecting deserving candidates. Nomination forms can be accessed on their official website.
The forum will cover sectors such as food & beverages, agritech, pharmaceuticals and medtech, shipbuilding, maritime industries, metals fabrication, handcrafts, advanced manufacturing, chemicals, plastics, sustainable materials, hydrogen technology, electrical equipment and electronics. It also includes machinery and equipment manufacturing along with construction materials.
Candidates are assessed based on criteria specific to each award category they apply for. The upcoming forum is set to be the largest since its inception three years ago. It aims to highlight various sectors including aerospace, automotive industries and defence.
This year's awards reflect MoIAT's commitment to recognising excellence within the UAE's industrial landscape while promoting innovation across diverse sectors.
