Madinah Red Crescent Launches Comprehensive Emergency Medical Plan For Hajj Season 1446 AH
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Madinah has initiated its operational plan for the Hajj season 1446 AH. This plan is focused on delivering urgent medical services to visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque and on routes leading to Madinah. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, Director General of SRCA Madinah branch, mentioned that over 700 specialists are involved to ensure efficient emergency service delivery.
To enhance service efficiency, the plan includes 74 ambulance units across 10 sectors. These units consist of 54 ambulances and 20 rapid response teams using motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, golf carts, and specialized vehicles for disasters and mass-casualty incidents. All vehicles are equipped with advanced medical tools and technologies.

The region’s Medical Dispatch Center manages emergency reports through the 997 hotline or the "Asefne" app, available in nine languages. The center offers medical guidance and electronically directs alerts to nearby emergency teams using the "E-Paramedic" system. This system ensures swift response and hospital transport with a comprehensive digital medical report.
Dr. Al-Zahrani highlighted that air ambulance services are fully prepared for deployment if needed. The operational capacity at the Prophet’s Mosque and its courtyards can be increased based on crowd density. This flexibility ensures that emergency services can adapt to varying demands during the Hajj season.
The Command and Control Center plays a crucial role in monitoring incidents and team movements. This oversight enhances speed and efficiency in responding to emergencies. By tracking operations closely, the center ensures that resources are optimally deployed where they are most needed.
In addition to ground units, air ambulance services stand ready for activation when necessary. This readiness is part of a broader strategy to manage potential emergencies effectively during the Hajj season, ensuring all visitors receive timely medical attention.
The SRCA's comprehensive approach aims to provide seamless emergency medical services throughout Madinah during this significant period. By leveraging technology and skilled personnel, they strive to maintain high standards of care for all visitors.
