Madinah's Qiblatain Mosque Project Aims To Preserve Islamic Heritage And Legacy

The Qiblatain Mosque and Civilization Center Project in Madinah showcases the blend of religious devotion and cultural heritage. This initiative aims to maintain the mosque as a symbol of faith and history, commemorating the qibla's change and guiding visitors through Madinah's rich past. Located in the city's northwest, the mosque has seen numerous restorations, especially during the Saudi era under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Significant expansions have taken place under King Salman's leadership, reflecting Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving Islamic landmarks. These efforts also aim to enhance services for visitors. The project is managed by the Al Madinah Region Development Authority, combining historical authenticity with modern technology. The entire site spans over 265,000 square meters, with the mosque itself covering more than 3,900 square meters.

The mosque can accommodate upwards of 20,000 worshippers. It includes over 300 parking spaces for buses and cars. More than 50 canopies equipped with 100 misting fans provide a comfortable atmosphere. Thoughtfully designed corridors and courtyards facilitate smooth movement and create a welcoming environment for worshippers and visitors alike.

The Kingdom’s dedication to serving Islam is evident in its care for sacred sites like this one. Following directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the mosque remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This allows worshippers to pray and benefit spiritually at all times. Such initiatives are central to Saudi Arabia's mission to preserve its rich Islamic heritage.
