Madinah Governor Visits Airport To Oversee Hajj Preparations For Pilgrims
Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who also serves as Chairman of the Hajj and Visit Committee, underscored the importance of enhancing pilgrim services. Saudi Arabia has dedicated substantial resources to this cause. The government, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, aims to facilitate a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.
During his visit to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, coinciding with the arrival of pilgrims for Hajj 1445 AH, Prince Salman evaluated the operational readiness of the airport. He conducted a comprehensive tour of the Hajj halls and received a briefing on the services provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for pilgrims arriving through Madinah, the second major gateway to the holy cities.

Prince Salman scrutinized various airport services, including passenger security, baggage handling, passport control, customs, healthcare facilities, and operations of other pertinent agencies. The Prince also inspected the Hajj Plaza, a six-hall facility designed to accommodate over 500 passengers, and the dedicated Makkah Route Initiative hall aimed at facilitating travel for pilgrims.
Additionally, Prince Salman visited the Haramain High-Speed Rail station to assess the readiness of services facilitating transportation between the holy cities. He received a briefing on operational plans for the Hajj season, which entail providing over 1.6 million seats across 3,800 trips for pilgrims visiting Madinah.
Inauguration of "Fit Hajj" Initiative
The Governor also inaugurated the "Fit Hajj" initiative by the Madinah Health Cluster. This initiative is crafted to prepare pilgrims through specialized clinics offering awareness programs, fitness improvement sessions, and rehabilitation services tailored for the elderly, disabled individuals, and those with chronic conditions or mobility issues.
The comprehensive efforts by Saudi Arabia aim to ensure that every pilgrim has access to essential services and facilities, thereby enhancing their overall experience during Hajj.
