Madinah Governor Reviews Arab Tourism Achievements With Organization President

In a recent meeting held in Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Madinah Region, engaged with Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organization, and his delegation. The discussion centered around the organization's achievements in 2023, particularly in training and entrepreneurship for Madinah residents.

The Arab Tourism Organization has been instrumental in showcasing the cultural richness of the Arab world through its key projects. One such initiative is the Arab Village, featuring 22 pavilions from member countries that display traditional industries and crafts. Another significant project is the Reef Project, aimed at developing rural motels in partnership with the private sector.

Madinah's New Tourism Initiatives Unveiled

Dr. Al-Fuhaid highlighted the pivotal role of the organization in promoting Madinah as a prime destination for Islamic tourism. This was notably recognized in 2017 when Madinah was designated as the capital of Islamic tourism by tourism ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states. The city's religious, historical, and heritage significance, along with landmarks related to the Prophet's biography, make it a revered site among Muslims.

The meeting also underscored the Kingdom's support for the Arab Tourism Organization, based in Saudi Arabia. This backing is crucial for expanding tourism initiatives in the region, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing the sector's growth and development.

Prince Salman's engagement with the Arab Tourism Organization underscores a collaborative effort to bolster tourism and entrepreneurship in Madinah. Through such partnerships, the region is set to enhance its appeal as a key destination for cultural and religious tourism.
