M42 Expands GCC Presence With Inauguration Of Amana Healthcare Bahrain Facility

M42, a leader in global health powered by AI and genomics, has inaugurated Amana Healthcare Bahrain. The event was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. This facility in Al Jasra is M42’s first in the Kingdom, marking a significant step in their regional expansion strategy.

The new hospital is developed in partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the Kingdom's sovereign wealth fund. It is the first specialised long-term care and rehabilitation hospital in Bahrain. This facility enhances healthcare by providing dedicated post-acute recovery capacity, allowing other hospitals to focus on primary medical missions.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, stated, "The inauguration of Amana Healthcare Bahrain marks a key milestone in strengthening the Kingdom’s healthcare ecosystem. It underscores Mumtalakat’s commitment to investing in initiatives that create meaningful local impact while supporting the Kingdom’s economic diversification. Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group CEO of M42, highlighted the importance of this development for regional growth. The hospital spans over 15,000 square meters and includes more than 100 beds dedicated to long-term care. It employs a multidisciplinary team of 250 clinicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff. This facility not only adds value to Bahrain's healthcare sector but also creates employment opportunities while offering training for national talent.

Dr. Mohamed Ameen AlSaati from M42 emphasised that Amana Healthcare Bahrain aims to bring world-class care closer to home. "Amana Healthcare Bahrain is designed to bring world-class long-term care and rehabilitation services closer to home. The facility supports strengthening national healthcare capacity, providing specialised care in a dedicated facility."
