M42 And Mumtalakat Break Ground On Amana Healthcare Facility In Bahrain
Amana Healthcare, a part of the M42 group, has initiated the construction of a new healthcare facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain. This project, in collaboration with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), was marked by a ceremony on 18th September 2024. The development signifies Amana Healthcare's expansion into Bahrain, aiming to provide top-tier health solutions and specialised care for the Kingdom's residents.
The ceremony was attended by members of Amana Healthcare – Bahrain’s Board of Directors. Notable attendees included Dr. Mohamed Al Saati, Acting CEO of M42 Bahrain and CEO of Amana Healthcare Bahrain, and Khalid Hussain Taqi, Managing Director - Local Impact Investments at Mumtalakat.

Dr. Al Saati highlighted the significance of this new facility, stating it will address critical healthcare needs in Bahrain. "This highly specialised new facility will address a critical need in Bahrain, particularly long-term complex medical needs and post-acute rehabilitation. We are proud to be partnering with Mumtalakat to address crucial gaps in the healthcare landscape, support the vision of the country, and create jobs for Bahrainis," he said.
Khalid Hussain Taqi expressed Mumtalakat's dedication to investing in essential sectors for Bahrain’s economic growth. "Mumtalakat is committed to investing in key sectors of Bahrain’s economy to benefit and enrich the lives of its people," he stated. He emphasised that this project would enhance healthcare quality and accessibility through innovative technology.
The upcoming facility is set to open in 2025 as the first international premium provider of specialised long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services in Bahrain. It aims to transform healthcare delivery within the region with its innovative approach.
Spanning 15,000 square metres, the facility will house 100 beds along with two large gyms, a hydrotherapy pool, two majlises, and gardens. These features are designed to offer world-class services across its three wings using advanced technology.
The groundbreaking event marks just the beginning of this significant venture. A Recruitment Day is scheduled for 12th October 2024 in Manama to attract skilled local professionals from across the Kingdom.
This initiative underscores Amana Healthcare's commitment to enhancing healthcare standards while creating employment opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
