M42's International Patient Services Earns Prestigious Global Healthcare Accreditation
M42, a leading global tech-enabled health powerhouse, has recently been awarded the prestigious Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) Certification for Excellence in Medical Travel Patient Experience by the United States. This accolade is a testament to M42's innovative approach in healthcare, achieving an impressive overall score of 91 percent. The certification underscores M42's dedication to providing outstanding care and support to international patients throughout their healthcare journey.
The International Patient Services (IPS) department at M42 is at the forefront of offering personalised assistance. Ambassadors assigned by the IPS ensure that international patients and their companions experience a smooth and seamless journey, from the initial contact until their departure. This achievement places M42 among a select group of globally recognised healthcare providers, highlighting a significant advancement in the region's medical tourism sector.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, expressed pride in the organisation's holistic approach to health and healthcare provision. "Receiving the first Global Healthcare Accreditation certification in the region not only reaffirms our commitment to the well-being and safety of those we serve but also strengthens the UAE's position as a premier destination for medical tourism," Al Nowais remarked.
The UAE is rapidly emerging as a global hub for medical tourism, with the industry expected to see substantial growth. Projections indicate that by 2027, the UAE’s medical tourism market will reach US $273.72 billion, a significant leap from US $104.68 billion in 2019. The country has welcomed around half a million medical tourists, with the largest group coming from Asia (37 percent), followed by visitors from the wider Gulf region (31 percent) and Europe (15 percent).
Renée-Marie Stephano, GHA’s Chief Executive Officer, extended her congratulations to M42 International Patient Services for being the first organisation in the Middle East to achieve this recognition. "The Certification offers organisations a unique opportunity to delve deeply into their global/international patient service practices, effecting positive change in quality, safety, and overall patient experience," Stephano stated. She further highlighted how GHA Certification serves as a powerful tool for increasing visibility among patients and international payers while building patient trust through operational excellence and patient-centred care.
This certification not only acknowledges M42's dedication to service excellence but also its steadfast support for the unique needs of medical travel patients, marking a milestone in enhancing the UAE's reputation as a leading destination for medical tourism.
