Lunate Launches Boreas Range Of Thematic ETFs In Europe On Xetra
Lunate has launched its Boreas range of UCITS thematic ETFs on Deutsche Börse Xetra, becoming the first investment manager from the Middle East to list a full ETF suite on a European exchange. The initial Boreas S&P AI Data, Power & Infrastructure UCITS ETF starts trading under tickers POWR in euros and POWA in US dollars.
The move strengthens links between Middle East capital and European markets, while giving international investors structured access to new thematic and specialist ETFs. The Boreas platform includes strategies with different risk and return profiles, built to target long-term themes expected to shape economic growth and support diversified portfolios.

On 27th January 2026, Lunate plans a concurrent listing of the Boreas S&P Absolute Luxury UCITS ETF on both Xetra and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. Later in 2026, the European product line is expected to grow further, including the Boreas Solactive Quantum Computing UCITS ETF and additional specialised strategies.
The Absolute Luxury ETF will give global investors focused exposure to Europe’s luxury sector, at a time when the worldwide millionaire population is projected to rise by almost 10 percent by 2029. The ETF targets companies benefiting from strong competitive positions supported by heritage, craftsmanship, and recognised international brands, aiming to capture expanding global wealth.
The Absolute Luxury ETF tracks the S&P Europe Luxury 35/20 Capped Index and will hold 32 listed companies, among them Hermes, Ferrari, Burberry, LVMH, and Richemont. The total expense ratio is set at 49 basis points. UAE-based investors can participate through six Authorized Participants or via the ADX eIPO portal between 15th and 21st January 2026.
Lunate positions the Boreas thematic ETFs for both traditional institutions and newer investors using digital platforms. The range is designed to provide transparent, liquid, and relatively low-cost access to themes in areas such as artificial intelligence infrastructure, European luxury, and quantum computing, appealing to users seeking targeted exposures within broader portfolios.
The Boreas thematic ETFs are managed by Lunate, with Northwind acting as exclusive consultant on ETF strategy, supporting product design and research. Northwind is led by Geir Espeskog and Christopher Vass. Jane Street is the dedicated market maker for Lunate’s European-listed ETFs, while AHP Capital/NTree Deutschland has been appointed distributor. Euroclear Bank will serve as the international central securities depository.
Sherif Salem, Partner & Head of Public Markets at Lunate, said, "The launch of our Boreas range of thematic ETFs in Europe marks a historic milestone as Lunate becomes the first provider from the region to list its ETFs on a European exchange. Our European launch enables global investor access to our differentiated public markets offering, with actively designed thematic and specialty ETFs capturing compelling investment opportunities across themes with the potential for accelerated growth. Our upcoming Absolute Luxury ETF capitalises on the significant growth in global wealth, which is creating a new wave of demand for luxury."
Geir Espeskog, Chief Executive Officer of Northwind, said, "Global innovation across technology, energy, and security is accelerating, creating one of the most compelling environments for thematic investing in decades. In parallel, research and development activity is expanding rapidly, with private companies now matching and often surpassing government investment in scale and impact. These forces are shaping the industries that will define the next generation of economic growth. We are proud to support Lunate in introducing a suite of resilient, forward-looking themes designed for investors seeking exposure to these transformative shifts."
With the Boreas thematic ETFs entering Xetra and ADX, Lunate links Middle Eastern capital with specialised European exposures in areas such as data infrastructure and luxury brands. The structure, supported by established trading and settlement partners, offers investors in the UAE and worldwide a new set of tools to access specific growth themes through regulated UCITS vehicles.
