Lumo, Mercedes-Benz, And Momenta Unveil Premium Autonomous Robotaxi Fleet For Abu Dhabi
A UAE-based taxi firm, Lumo, has announced a new venture in autonomous mobility. In collaboration with Mercedes-Benz and Momenta, they are launching a high-end autonomous robotaxi fleet in Abu Dhabi. This initiative leverages Momenta's L4 autonomous driving system and the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class model to create a scalable premium robotaxi platform.
Commercial operations for this innovative fleet are set to commence in Abu Dhabi next year, with plans to expand into other international markets. The partnership unites three leading mobility innovators who share a vision for the future of intelligent transportation.

Faisal Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs, highlighted the significance of this collaboration. He stated that the UAE provides an ideal environment for testing and showcasing future mobility solutions due to its commitment to innovation and rapid execution.
Joerg Burzer, Chief Technology Officer of Mercedes-Benz AG, emphasised their dedication to setting a new standard in global intelligent transportation. He said, "Today, in partnership with Momenta and Lumo, we are redefining the future mobility benchmark by creating premium robotaxis. We are committed to perfectly blending safety with comfort and sophistication."
Xudong Cao, CEO of Momenta, explained how this collaboration integrates Mercedes-Benz’s engineering excellence with Momenta’s advanced AI technology and Lumo’s local operational expertise. The robotaxi service aims to provide a smart mobility experience that prioritises safety while maintaining premium quality.
This project marks the first scalable premium robotaxi model based on a mass-production luxury platform. It represents a significant step forward in autonomous driving technology by combining luxury with cutting-edge AI capabilities.
