LPTC Launches Children's Literary Week To Promote Creativity And Reading In Sakaka
The Children's Literary Week began on Friday at the Culture Center in Sakaka, Al-Jouf Region. Organised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission (LPTC), this event will continue until September 4. It aims to promote literary culture among children across Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Abdullatif Alwasel, CEO of LPTC, stated that this event is part of their ongoing efforts to foster a literary culture throughout the Kingdom. He emphasised that it provides children with a platform to express their creativity and aligns with the National Culture Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.

The event offers a variety of cultural and creative activities designed for children, youth, and parents. These include workshops led by specialists focused on developing children's talents. The programme also features theatrical performances, literary competitions, interactive activities, and storytelling sessions.
Educational corners are set up to nurture children's imagination and strengthen their connection with literature from an early age. These interactive spaces aim to make reading an enjoyable experience for young participants.
The Children's Literary Week project spans five different regions across the Kingdom over one week. Its goal is to inspire a love for reading, storytelling, and writing among both children and parents. This initiative seeks to enhance children's reading skills and intellectual abilities while fostering good literary habits.
By raising cultural awareness, the event encourages engagement with cultural and literary activities. It also aims to boost creative capacities among children and their families, contributing to building a generation capable of engaging with the cultural movement.
This initiative reflects LPTC's commitment to achieving the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 by nurturing a reading and creative generation. Through diverse activities, it seeks to instil a passion for literature in young minds across Saudi Arabia.
