LCGPA Launches New Gold Category To Elevate Saudi Made Label Recognition

The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) has launched a "Gold Category" for the Saudi Industry Label. This initiative is part of the "Made in Saudi" program, announced at the second Local Content Forum. The Gold Category aims to enhance local content by highlighting private sector contributions, boosting recognition among stakeholders.

To qualify for this prestigious label, companies must meet strict criteria. These include fulfilling the core requirements of the Saudi Industry Label and obtaining a certified local content certificate from LCGPA. Seven companies from various sectors have already received this honour.

New Gold Category for Saudi Made Products

LCGPA CEO Abdulrahman Al Samari emphasized that the initiative targets businesses of all sizes, from small enterprises to large corporations. "The label empowers private sector companies by positioning their products as preferred choices for consumers," he stated. This effort aims to influence purchasing decisions and foster support for local content.

The Gold Category not only strengthens trust in national products but also encourages domestic offerings. It incentivizes the private sector to adopt and improve local content practices, distinguishing companies based on their contributions to local growth.

Eng. Abdulrahman Althukair, CEO of the Saudi Export Development Authority, praised the Gold Category as crucial for enhancing local content and showcasing Saudi products' competitiveness globally. "The Gold Category is a hallmark of quality and commitment," he remarked, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives.

This initiative reflects the Kingdom's industrial excellence and supports goals like diversifying income sources and expanding non-oil exports. The Made in Saudi program is a key component of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), led by the Saudi Export Development Authority.

Promoting National Products

The Made in Saudi program promotes locally manufactured goods among consumers while encouraging businesses to explore priority export markets. LCGPA remains dedicated to advancing local content nationally and optimizing government procurement operations.

This commitment contributes significantly to Saudi Arabia's economic aspirations and developmental goals. Community awareness of local content reached 58% in 2023, showcasing growing support for national products and services.
