Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Launches New Media Strategies To Enhance Integration In Sharjah
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, attended a ceremony to unveil new strategies for media entities under the council. This initiative aims to update strategies to foster integration and cooperation, aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The event commenced with the UAE national anthem at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre. Attendees, including H.H. Sheikh Sultan, viewed a video showcasing efforts in updating media strategies under the Sharjah Media Council. The project involved analysing over 100 files, setting 20 main strategic objectives, and formulating 97 performance indicators.
In his speech, H.H. Sheikh Sultan addressed media leaders in Sharjah, stating, "Today, we stand on the threshold of a new phase in our ambitious media journey, a phase that reflects Sharjah’s cultural identity with a promising future vision. We did not expect the extent of the achievements until we saw the outcomes, and here are the numbers speaking to reflect the extent of the effort and work you have put in."
He emphasised that this strategy was developed collaboratively with strategic partners within institutions. "What distinguishes this phase is that the strategy was not just a plan that was developed behind closed doors," he noted. He highlighted that excellence begins with a clear strategy supporting media sector development.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan outlined several challenges facing media institutions: anticipating future crises for swift responses; attracting investors to diversify income sources; integrating media institutions for resource efficiency; and embracing digital transformation for innovation.
He stressed that strategic work is essential for achieving institutional goals. He urged leaders to transform these strategies into actionable plans rather than mere documents. These efforts aim to provide distinguished content reflecting Sharjah's vision as a leading media platform.
Collaborative Efforts and Future Plans
The launch included workshops where teams brainstormed solutions for future media challenges identified by H.H. Sheikh Sultan. Following these activities, teams presented their proposed initiatives addressing these challenges.
Hessa Abdullah Al Hammadi praised the unified efforts in her opening speech. She highlighted that launching this strategy marks a step towards responsible media reflecting Emirati identity while inspiring society globally with modern perspectives.
The project also involved developing 16 benchmarks for strategic axes and objectives and designing four comprehensive strategic maps. In upcoming periods, these strategies will be translated into operational plans featuring innovative projects and periodic performance reports presented at council meetings.
The ceremony was attended by key figures such as Mohamed Hassan Khalaf from Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and Tariq Saeed Allay from Sharjah Government Media Bureau among others from various media entities in Sharjah.
The event concluded with H.H. Sheikh Sultan observing accompanying workshops focused on developing solutions for future media challenges raised during his speech.
