Latifa Bint Mohammed Engages Youth At Retreat And Forum During Asia Pacific Cities Summit In Dubai
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, recently attended the ‘Youth Retreat’ and ‘Young Professionals’ Forum’. These events were part of the Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum 2025 at Expo City Dubai. During her visit, H.H. Sheikha Latifa engaged with participating youths to discuss their work plans and initial discussion outcomes.
The ‘Youth Retreat’, organised by the Dubai Youth Council, is supported by the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai and Expo City Dubai. It involves relevant government entities focusing on six themes: Economy, Transportation, Digital Dubai, Security, Sustainability, and Community Development. This initiative empowers youth to create innovative solutions for future urban challenges.
At the event, H.H. Sheikha Latifa listened to presentations from youth teams who proposed practical recommendations for enhancing city life quality. These teams are developing early prototypes with guidance from sector leaders and government partners. The aim is to foster innovation in urban development through collaborative efforts.
The Young Professionals’ Forum runs concurrently with the Summit, featuring youth representatives from various Asia-Pacific countries. This forum facilitates knowledge exchange and encourages young talents to contribute to shaping cities' futures and boosting their global competitiveness.
A total of 120 young individuals from Dubai, the region, and worldwide are involved in these youth-focused programmes alongside the Summit. Their contributions through ideas and initiatives are vital in advancing Dubai’s ambitions and reinforcing its global leadership in adopting innovative solutions while empowering youth in decision-making processes.
This gathering highlights the importance of engaging young minds in urban planning and development. By involving them in discussions about future challenges, these forums aim to harness their potential for creating sustainable solutions that benefit cities globally.
