Latifa Bint Mohammed Oversees MoU Signing Between Dubai Culture And Dubai Health For Art For Good Initiative
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, observed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Dubai Culture and Dubai Health. This agreement aims to foster strategic collaboration and broaden joint initiatives between the two entities. It signifies a shared dedication to enhancing Dubai’s cultural scene, supporting its healthcare system, and increasing society's appreciation for the arts.
The MoU was signed by Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, and Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health. It introduces the ‘Art for Good – Health Pillar’ initiative, which seeks to enrich healthcare environments by incorporating art and creativity into Dubai Health’s facilities through innovative approaches. The partnership aligns with the emirate’s Quality of Life Strategy, highlighting creativity's role in shaping a vibrant city.
This agreement lays the groundwork for a unified framework that allows artists and cultural practitioners to contribute significantly to projects that support healing within healthcare settings. It reflects the mutual commitment of both parties to advance Dubai’s vision through collaboration and creative programmes. Together, they will evaluate these efforts' outcomes to guide future activities that enhance quality of life.
Dr. Amer Sharif highlighted that this partnership sets a benchmark for collaboration among government entities in Dubai, merging healthcare and cultural synergy for community service. He stated that the ‘Art for Good – Health Edition’ initiative embodies Dubai Health’s belief in art's transformative power, creating spaces that aid patients’ physical and emotional recovery while improving overall quality of life.
Hala Badri affirmed that Dubai continues to solidify its position as one of the world’s most dynamic cities under His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's leadership. She emphasised that activating the Health Pillar under ‘Art for Good’ will strengthen culture and wellbeing connections: "Dubai has long embraced the power of the arts to inspire, uplift, and connect."
She further noted that this initiative marks a significant step toward achieving goals outlined in the Dubai Social Agenda 33, particularly in promoting health and social wellbeing: "This initiative reflects our dedication to integrating artistic expression into everyday life... It also opens new doors for our creative community to contribute to public good."

Dr. Amer Sharif expressed that at Dubai Health, holistic care extends beyond clinical treatment to include mental and emotional wellbeing. He said: "This initiative is a step towards integrating art into care settings... supporting the Dubai Social Agenda 33."
