Latifa Bint Mohammed Inaugurates Multi-Sensory Exhibition ‘The Sublime Nature Of Being’ In Dubai
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, recently opened the exhibition ‘The Sublime Nature of Being’ at ICD Brookfield Place's Summer Garden. This multi-sensory exhibition, in partnership with the ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme, showcases the transformative impact of art on daily life and highlights talent from local to international levels. The exhibition is available for viewing until 22nd February.
The exhibition invites visitors to engage with a diverse collection of contemporary artworks from around the globe. These pieces encourage personal reflection on universal moments that transcend language and ignite the senses, reconnecting individuals with the profound beauty of existence. H.H. Sheikha Latifa explored these artworks during her visit, appreciating their unique artistic journeys and creative presentations.
Curated by Ambika Hinduja Macker, founder and creative director of Impeccable Imagination, the exhibition reflects her distinctive artistic vision. It reimagines her 2022 immersive art experience, focusing on the mysteries of nature through innovative works by renowned contemporary artists. This sequel celebrates the interplay between Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Spirit, offering an immersive experience beyond the physical realm.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa engaged with several participating artists during her visit. She praised their innovative visions and exceptional work quality. She highlighted how their creations effectively convey humanity's deep connection with nature while enriching Dubai’s vibrant cultural scene.
The exhibition blends essential elements with a modern interpretation of ‘Ukiyo’, a Japanese concept signifying living in the moment without life's concerns. Visitors embark on a sensorial journey where water rejuvenates, fire sparks passion, earth provides grounding, air embodies freedom, and spirit resonates deeply with human experience.
Ambika Hinduja Macker expressed her honour in bringing visionary artists together in Dubai's vibrant environment at ICD Brookfield Place. "Dubai’s vibrant energy and spirit of innovation... makes it the perfect home for an exhibition that celebrates the powerful, transformative interplay of the five elements," she stated.
Cultural Significance and Inspiration
Sheikha Latifa emphasised that this exhibition represents a global experience reflecting Dubai’s cultural diversity and creative atmosphere. It strengthens Dubai’s position as a global creativity hub and meeting point for exceptional talent.
Malak Abu Qaoud, Director of ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme, noted a natural synergy between the exhibition's vision and ICD Brookfield Place's ethos. "Our space has always been a platform for inspiring creativity... With this exhibition... we are proud to offer visitors an immersive journey that celebrates... art," said Abu Qaoud.
The ‘Sublime Nature of Being’ provides audiences with a serene space for reflection through creativity's power. It offers moments of calm and inspiration while celebrating art's transformative ability to inspire reflection and deeper connections to nature and shared human experiences.
