New Frontiers In Migraine Treatment Explored At Abu Dhabi Neurology Conference

The Fourth Abu Dhabi Neurology Conference delved into the latest treatments for migraines, aiming to significantly alleviate patient pain. The event also explored advancements in neurology, from diagnosis to modern medicines, enhancing healthcare services. Organised by the Emirates Neurology Society and supported by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and the United Arab Emirates University, the three-day conference commenced on Friday.

Dr. Naji Riachi, Consultant Neurologist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SMC) and Chairman of the conference, highlighted that participants reviewed various modern treatments for migraines. These included a unique nasal spray containing CGRP receptor antagonists and an intravenous treatment aimed at preventing and treating migraine pain. These innovations promise significant relief for patients.

Exploring New Migraine Treatments

On the first day, discussions centred around neurological eye disorders. Experts identified diseases and abnormalities affecting neurological functions of the eye. They also discussed retinal diseases to determine accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatments.

The conference featured workshops with presentations, lectures, and discussions on various neurological conditions. Topics included modern diagnostic techniques, treatment methods, and emerging trends in neurology. This platform allowed experts to share research results and developments in neuroscience.

During the second day, sessions covered multiple sclerosis, headaches, movement disorders, epilepsy, and other neurological topics. The impact of new multisite electrical stimulation devices on motor symptoms and pain was also discussed.

Collaborative Knowledge Exchange

The event brought together leading experts, researchers, doctors, nurses, and specialists from within and outside the UAE. It served as a platform for exchanging knowledge about brain diseases and recent developments in neurodiagnosis, treatment, and research.

Dr. Riachi emphasised that the conference aims to foster collaboration among professionals in neurology. By sharing insights through workshops and discussions, participants can enhance their understanding of neurological conditions.

The conference's comprehensive approach ensures that attendees gain valuable knowledge from experienced doctors, specialists in neurology departments, emergency medicine professionals, and medical students.

This gathering underscores the importance of continuous learning and collaboration in advancing neurological care. By staying updated with the latest research and treatments, healthcare providers can offer better services to patients suffering from neurological disorders.
