Saudi Arabia Concludes Major Quran Memorization Competition In Nepal With Over 750 Participants

The Second Holy Quran Memorization Competition in Nepal concluded with the recognition of its winners. Awad Al-Anzi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance for Islamic Affairs, honoured the victors. The event, held under the Saudi Embassy's supervision in Kathmandu, saw participation from over 750 contestants, including 18 winners across four categories.

Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Saad Nasser Abu Haimed and Nepalese House of Representatives Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire were present at the ceremony. The gathering also included heads of Islamic associations, several ambassadors, diplomatic mission members, Nepalese parliamentarians, and notable Islamic figures. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to Quran recitations by various contestants.

Quran Memorization Competition Held in Nepal

Al-Anzi highlighted Saudi Arabia's dedication to promoting the Quran through such competitions. He noted that these events reflect the Kingdom's commitment to spreading Islam's values of goodness, justice, mercy, and kindness. This approach has been a cornerstone since Saudi Arabia's establishment.

The King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex in Madinah was mentioned as a significant contributor to this mission. It has distributed millions of correctly printed Quran copies worldwide for free as gifts from the Saudi government. Al-Anzi expressed gratitude to Saudi leadership for supporting this competition and thanked the Nepalese government for its cooperation.

Ambassador Abu Haimed praised the competition as part of Saudi Arabia's efforts rooted in the Quran and Sunnah. He emphasized the Kingdom's dedication to printing and disseminating the Quran globally. Abu Haimed congratulated all winners and acknowledged their achievements.

The participants used this occasion to express appreciation for Saudi leadership's initiatives in serving Islam and Muslims. They acknowledged efforts in caring for the Quran and encouraging its memorization and recitation among Muslims worldwide.
