Kuwaiti Minister Of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan Explores Saudi Road Research Centre In Riyadh

Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan recently visited the Saudi Road Research and Accelerated Pavement Test Centre (SRRAPTC) in Riyadh. Her visit coincided with the Road Safety and Sustainability Conference and Exhibition, which was organised by the General Authority for Roads. This event attracted over 1,500 experts and specialists from more than 50 countries under the theme "Innovating for Tomorrow."

During her tour, Minister Al-Mashaan received a detailed briefing on the centre's cutting-edge technologies. A key highlight was the Heavy Vehicle Simulator, which evaluates pavement layers in asphalt sections. This simulator mimics real-world traffic loads and environmental conditions found across Saudi Arabia, allowing for precise assessment and design of pavement materials while optimising maintenance methods and costs.

The SRRAPTC is instrumental in approving road materials and design mixtures, ensuring quality control over implemented work. It also accelerates project timelines by evaluating factories that produce road materials. The centre provides technical consultations and studies to enhance road safety and improve urban quality of life.
