Kuwait Hosts The 51st FANA General Assembly To Strengthen Arab News Agency Collaboration

The 51st General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) commenced in Kuwait City. Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Acting Director General of Emirates News Agency (WAM) and FANA President, expressed gratitude to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) for their hospitality. He acknowledged KUNA Director General and FANA Vice President Dr. Fatma Al-Salem for her efforts and wished Kuwait continued success under His Highness Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's leadership.

Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi highlighted FANA's progress in fostering collaboration among Arab news agencies. He emphasised the importance of advancing amidst regional challenges, intense media competition, and rapid changes in communication technology. "FANA has made significant strides in collaborative efforts, fostering cooperation among Arab news agencies and bolstering their standing," he stated.

Kuwait Welcomes FANA General Assembly Members

The assembly discussions centred on the difficulties Arab news agencies face globally. Dr. Fatma Al-Salem expressed optimism that the conference would yield positive outcomes for these agencies, especially given the current regional dynamics. Dr. Farid Ayar, FANA Secretary-General, welcomed federation members including WAM's Acting Director General Al Kaabi and Ali bin Abdullah Al-Zaid, Acting President of the Saudi Press Agency. He appreciated Kuwait's role in hosting the event and highlighted FANA's achievements in training Arab media professionals and leading media initiatives across the region.

FANA has been instrumental in enhancing media skills through various training programs for Arab journalists. The federation has also spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening media presence in the Arab world.
