KSRNR's Commitment To Breeding And Protecting Arabian Sand Gazelles In Their Natural Habitat

The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority (KSRNR) is dedicated to safeguarding the Arabian Sand Gazelle from extinction. Conservation efforts within the reserve have been instrumental in reviving this species. The Arabian Sand Gazelle, known for its elegance and speed, has seen a drastic decline in numbers over the last century due to poaching.

Recent observations by KSRNR indicate that these gazelles have started breeding within the reserve. Field teams are actively monitoring them to ensure their protection. The authority highlights that successful breeding signifies the quality and suitability of the natural habitats for wildlife. This achievement underscores KSRNR's commitment to preserving endangered species.

Notably, it is listed on the Green List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), marking it as the first Saudi reserve to receive this accolade.

Furthermore, five important bird areas have been designated based on global criteria. The reserve is also recognized as the largest major biodiversity area in Saudi Arabia according to international standards. These achievements highlight KSRNR's role in conservation at both national and international levels.
