KSrelief Implements Over 1,072 Women's Empowerment Projects Across 79 Countries
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) reaffirms its dedication to empowering women on International Women's Day, celebrated every March 8. KSrelief acknowledges the crucial role women play in sustainable development and societal advancement. Through its initiatives, Saudi Arabia prioritises women's empowerment in the most vulnerable communities worldwide.
KSrelief has launched 1,072 projects aimed at supporting women across 79 countries, with a total investment exceeding $723.9 million. These efforts focus on providing essential aid and enhancing economic opportunities for women. The projects also aim to strengthen women's roles in shaping societies and nurturing future generations.

In Yemen, KSrelief supports women through vocational and business training programs. These initiatives equip them with necessary tools to secure sustainable income, improving their livelihoods and those of their families. This economic empowerment is vital for fostering self-reliance among women in vulnerable regions.
The center plays a significant role in protecting women and girls from gender-based violence by enhancing the capacity of both governmental and non-governmental institutions to respond effectively. Awareness campaigns are conducted to promote women's and girls' rights, while survivors receive psychological, social, and legal support services.
KSrelief also establishes shelters for those needing protection. These shelters provide a safe haven for women and girls who are at risk or have experienced violence, ensuring they have access to necessary resources for recovery.
Healthcare Initiatives
To improve women's healthcare, KSrelief has implemented voluntary medical programs that include surgical procedures in obstetrics and gynecology. These programs have been carried out in countries such as Yemen, El Salvador, Mauritania, Gambia, and Cameroon. They aim to address critical healthcare needs among women in underprivileged areas.
Additionally, KSrelief tackles severe malnutrition among children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers by providing essential healthcare services. This initiative ensures that vulnerable populations receive the nutrition they need for healthy development.
Global Impact of KSrelief
Since its inception, KSrelief has executed 3,361 projects across 106 countries with a total value exceeding $7 billion. These projects have benefited millions of vulnerable individuals without discrimination. The center's comprehensive approach addresses various humanitarian needs globally.
The commitment of KSrelief to empower women reflects Saudi Arabia's broader vision for sustainable development. By focusing on women's empowerment and addressing critical issues like healthcare and gender-based violence, KSrelief contributes significantly to global progress.
