KSrelief Sends Urgent Relief Convoy To Support Flood Victims In Punjab, Pakistan
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has dispatched an urgent relief convoy to Lahore, Pakistan, in response to severe flooding. This initiative aims to support those affected in Punjab's capital. Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malki and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif were present at the launch event.
Al-Malki highlighted that the convoy was sent following directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The aim is to ease the suffering of flood victims. This marks the second recent aid effort, with a previous convoy sent from Islamabad to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The ambassador emphasized Saudi Arabia's dedication to aiding those in need globally, particularly in Pakistan, which is currently facing widespread flooding across several provinces. KSrelief continues its humanitarian mission through these efforts.
Abdullah Al-Baqami, Director of KSrelief’s Pakistan office, detailed the contents of the convoy. It includes 10,000 food baskets weighing 950 tons and 10,000 shelter kits weighing 340 tons. These supplies consist of essential food items and shelter materials like tents, blankets, solar panels, lanterns, plastic mats, kitchen utensils, water coolers, and water purification materials.
The aid will be distributed in Punjab's most flood-affected regions. More than 70,000 individuals are expected to benefit from this assistance. The comprehensive support aims to address immediate needs in these communities.
Chief Minister Sharif expressed gratitude towards King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi government for their support. She noted that this relief effort underscores the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
