KSrelief Commits $14,223,762 To Rebuild Disaster-Affected Communities In Pakistan
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated four cooperation programs with key Pakistani organizations. These include the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, and the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) in Kashmir. The programs aim to assist communities affected by natural disasters in Pakistan, impacting around 360,000 people directly and 690,000 indirectly, with a total investment of $14,223,762.
KSrelief's Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, signed these agreements in Islamabad. The event was attended by notable figures such as Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan; Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan; an NDMA representative; the President of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society; and representatives from various UN organizations in Pakistan.

Under these agreements, KSrelief will construct 1,000 permanent housing units for families affected by the 2022 floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. These homes will provide safe shelter for approximately 7,000 individuals. Each unit will feature two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom to ensure a dignified living environment for the families.
In addition to housing projects, KSrelief plans to establish 300 community schools across Pakistan. These schools will be equipped with solar power and facilities for clean drinking water. They are expected to serve around 15,000 children directly while benefiting over 100,000 individuals indirectly within local communities. Once completed, these schools will be managed by the National Commission for Human Development.
KSrelief is also committed to constructing four secondary schools in Kashmir. These institutions aim to provide a safe learning environment for 3,400 students and contribute to the region's long-term development. Furthermore, a national logistics warehouse will be established for NDMA in Islamabad to enhance storage and distribution capabilities during emergencies.
The initiative includes rehabilitating 22 service facilities to improve access to education, healthcare, and clean water. This involves upgrading schools, health centers, and water projects previously established by Saudi Arabia in disaster-affected regions of Pakistan.
Commitment to Community Resilience
This comprehensive initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's leadership. It aims to bolster community resilience in Pakistan through educational support and healthcare projects while rehabilitating essential service facilities for early recovery.
