KSrelief Enhances Educational Facilities At Health Institute In Yemen's Lahij Governorate

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has completed a significant project in Yemen's Lahij Governorate, focusing on the Higher Institute for Health Sciences. This initiative involved extensive rehabilitation and re-equipping of the institute's facilities to enhance educational opportunities in health sciences.

KSrelief's efforts included repairing six main buildings and furnishing 10 classrooms. Additionally, they renovated 36 student dormitories and maintained 38 bathrooms to ensure comfortable living conditions. The project also equipped four modern medical laboratories with advanced technology to support health education.

The centre provided the institute with 539 pieces of furniture, along with 414 items for dormitories. They also delivered 828 medical devices across various departments such as nursing, surgery, reproductive health, and dentistry. Five electronic devices were supplied to aid teaching efforts.

This initiative aims to improve the educational environment for students and staff in Lahij while benefiting those from neighbouring regions. Approximately 1,850 individuals are expected to directly benefit from these improvements, with an estimated wider impact on around 860,000 people throughout Yemen.

Saleh Al-Dhaibani, KSrelief's office director in Aden, emphasised that the project is designed to enhance the academic and professional skills of health personnel by providing a supportive learning environment. This aligns with KSrelief’s broader mission to strengthen Yemen's educational and health infrastructure.

This project is part of a series of humanitarian initiatives by KSrelief aimed at preparing skilled health professionals to address Yemeni society's needs. By improving facilities at the Higher Institute for Health Sciences, KSrelief contributes significantly to developing qualified healthcare workers in Yemen.

The comprehensive nature of this project underscores KSrelief’s commitment to fostering educational growth and supporting healthcare advancements in Yemen. Through these efforts, KSrelief continues to play a vital role in enhancing both educational and health sectors within the country.
