KSrelief Concludes Football Training Program In Zaatari Camp, Jordan

In a significant collaboration aimed at fostering sports education and training in refugee settings, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), and the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) have successfully concluded a comprehensive refresher league and training program at the Zaatari camp in Amman, Jordan. This initiative marks a pivotal step in providing structured sports training to refugees, highlighting the power of sports as a tool for community building and resilience.

The culmination of this program was marked by the completion of a class C coach training course for 19 male trainers, meticulously delivered by esteemed lecturers Khalid Al-Atwi and Mohammed Abd Al-Jawad from WAFF and SAFF. This course aimed at enhancing the coaching skills of participants, equipping them with advanced knowledge and techniques in football coaching.

Football Training Ends in Zaatari Camp

Parallelly, the initiative also saw the successful execution of a class D training course that catered to 27 female trainers. This segment of the program was led by Tatiana Khalil and Sahar Dbouk, representing the Saudi and Asian federations respectively. The inclusion of female trainers in this program underscores a significant stride towards gender inclusivity in sports education within refugee camps.

As part of the practical application of learned skills, several refresher leagues were organized at the SAFF pitch within the camp. These leagues catered to different age groups, including competitions for 15 and 11-year-old participants, as well as a league for players above 50, demonstrating a broad engagement across various demographics within the camp.

The closing ceremony of this impactful program was graced by notable figures including Nayef Al-Shammari, director of the KSrelief branch in Jordan; Nazih Al-Nasr, member of the SAFF board of directors; and Khalil Al-Salem, secretary-general of WAFF. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort and commitment of these organizations towards humanitarian aid and leveraging sports for social good.

This initiative not only provided valuable sports training to refugees but also highlighted the collaborative spirit among KSrelief, SAFF, and WAFF in utilizing sports as a medium for empowerment and community development. The successful conclusion of this program paves the way for future endeavors aimed at enriching the lives of refugees through sports and education.
