KSrelief Supports Over 800,000 With Zakat Al-Fitr In Somalia, Yemen, Syria

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has once again demonstrated its commitment to global humanitarian efforts through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief). This initiative, aimed at providing relief and assistance to those in need across the globe, has recently focused on ensuring food security for the needy during the holy month of Ramadan.

KSrelief's Zakat Al-Fitr initiative, an essential charitable act required of Muslims at the end of Ramadan before the Eid Al-Fitr prayer, has made a significant impact in Somalia, Yemen, and Syria. In Somalia, 40,920 bags of rice, each weighing 20 kilograms, were distributed, aiding 245,520 individuals. Yemen saw the distribution of 31,333 bags of rice of the same weight, benefiting 219,331 people. Meanwhile, in Syria, 62,250 bags of wheat, each weighing 25 kilograms, reached 373,500 underprivileged individuals.

Since its inception, KSrelief has extended its reach to 98 countries with a total of 2,829 humanitarian and relief projects valued at $6 billion. These projects span vital sectors including food security, education, health care, nutrition, water supply, environmental sanitation, and shelter provision. The efforts have significantly improved the lives of millions of vulnerable people worldwide.
