KSrelief And IRVD To Operate New Prosthetics Center In Yemen's Marib
In a significant move to support the Yemeni population amidst their ongoing humanitarian crisis, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has partnered with the International Wars and Disasters Victims' Protection Association (IRVD). This collaboration, marked by a $1.38 million cooperation agreement, aims to enhance the operational capabilities of the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center located in Yemen's Marib Governorate. The formal agreement was signed at the KSrelief headquarters in Riyadh, showcasing a united front in humanitarian efforts.
The signing ceremony saw Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at KSrelief, and Dr. Muawiya Harsouni, Director of IRVD, come together to finalize the partnership. This initiative is set to benefit 4,854 individuals by providing essential physical rehabilitation services and prosthetics to those in need. Each patient will receive a tailored diagnosis and treatment plan, ensuring personalized care.

Furthermore, the agreement emphasizes the development of medical and technical staff within the center. By enhancing their professional and scientific capabilities, the initiative aims to prevent the migration of specialized personnel, thereby sustaining high-quality healthcare services within Yemen.
This recent agreement is part of a broader series of humanitarian and relief projects spearheaded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief. Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, KSrelief Director of the Health and Environmental Aid Department, highlighted in a press release that these efforts are crucial for alleviating the suffering faced by the Yemeni people during this challenging period.
The partnership between KSrelief and IRVD not only addresses immediate healthcare needs but also contributes to building a resilient healthcare infrastructure capable of supporting Yemen's most vulnerable populations. As Saudi Arabia continues to extend its support through various initiatives, this agreement stands as a testament to its commitment to humanitarian aid and relief efforts across the region.
The signing event was reported on Wednesday, with local time marked at 20:00 and GMT at 17:00, underlining Saudi Arabia's ongoing contributions towards fostering stability and health security in Yemen amidst its complex humanitarian landscape.
