KSrelief And IRVD To Operate New Prosthetics Center In Taiz, Aiding Thousands
In a significant move towards alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has partnered with the International Wars and Disasters Victims Protection Associations (IRVD) to launch the Artificial Limbs and Rehabilitation Center project in Taiz, Yemen. This initiative is set to provide essential physical rehabilitation services and prosthetic limbs to those in need, marking a crucial step in supporting individuals with special needs within the region.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Muallem, the director of the KSrelief Health and Environmental Assistance Department, outlined the project's objectives during a press statement. He highlighted that the center would focus on diagnosing conditions, crafting individual treatment plans, and installing various types of prosthetic limbs for beneficiaries. Additionally, the initiative aims to enhance the professional and scientific capabilities of medical and technical staff, while also working to prevent their migration by offering better opportunities locally.

The agreement for this noble cause was signed by Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, KSrelief's assistant general supervisor for operations and programs, at the organization's headquarters in Riyadh. This project is expected to benefit approximately 3,360 individuals, demonstrating KSrelief's commitment to delivering targeted humanitarian aid.
This collaboration between KSrelief and IRVD is part of a broader series of humanitarian and relief projects spearheaded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through these initiatives, Saudi Arabia aims to mitigate the suffering of the Yemeni population amidst an ongoing humanitarian crisis. The signing took place at 18:30 local time (15:30 GMT), marking a pivotal moment in the Kingdom's efforts to provide aid and support to those affected by wars and disasters.
The establishment of the Artificial Limbs and Rehabilitation Center in Taiz is a testament to Saudi Arabia's dedication to humanitarian causes. By addressing the critical needs of individuals with special needs and enhancing local medical capacities, this project not only offers immediate relief but also contributes to the long-term health infrastructure in Yemen.
