KSrelief’s Mobile Clinics Serve 15,888 In Yemen’s Al-Khawkhah In February
In a significant humanitarian effort during February, the mobile medical and nutritional clinics in Al-Khawkhah district of Yemen's Al-Hudaydah have provided essential treatment services to 15,888 individuals. This initiative, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), showcases a broad spectrum of healthcare services ranging from internal medicine to emergency care, highlighting the comprehensive approach taken to address the health needs of the local population.
The clinics operated under this initiative offered a diverse array of medical services. The internal medicine clinic saw 3,761 patients, indicating a significant demand for non-emergency care. Meanwhile, the emergency clinic was at the forefront of addressing urgent health concerns, with 4,860 cases. The epidemiology clinic played a crucial role in managing disease spread by attending to 1,277 patients, while the pediatrics clinic focused on the health of 632 children, underscoring the importance of specialized care for younger patients.

The mobile medical team itself provided aid to 769 individuals, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in reaching those in need. Reproductive health and therapeutic nutrition clinics also made notable contributions by assisting 1,099 and 206 beneficiaries respectively, addressing critical areas of health that often go underserved in crisis situations. Immunization efforts reached 114 individuals, a vital service in preventing the outbreak of vaccine-preventable diseases.
Further extending its healthcare services, the initiative saw the surgery and dressing department treat 370 individuals, while the medical referral department facilitated further care for 50 cases. Notably, the awareness and education department engaged with 2,713 individuals, providing crucial information on health practices and preventive measures.
The laboratory department was instrumental in diagnosing conditions for 4,993 individuals, playing a pivotal role in the healthcare delivery process. Additionally, medicines were dispensed to 12,947 patients, ensuring that those diagnosed had access to necessary treatments. The healthcare department received 3,277 cases, showcasing the extensive reach of this initiative across various medical fields.
Specialized departments such as blood transfusion and cardiac monitoring offered essential services to a smaller yet critical group of beneficiaries numbering 9 and 4 respectively. Moreover, a maintenance operation was carried out successfully to rehabilitate one of the clinics, ensuring that the infrastructure could continue to support these vital services.
This comprehensive effort by KSrelief in Al-Khawkhah district not only provided immediate medical and nutritional support to thousands but also emphasized the importance of healthcare education and infrastructure maintenance in humanitarian initiatives. Through a wide range of services and departments, the initiative has made a substantial impact on the health and well-being of the local population in Yemen's Al-Hudaydah.
