KSrelief Delivers Essential Medical Services To 2,738 Syrian Refugees At Zaatri Camp In Jordan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) extended medical services to 2,738 individuals at the Zaatari Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan during the second week of November. Various clinics provided essential healthcare, addressing a wide range of medical needs for the camp's residents.

In the general clinics, 657 patients received examinations and necessary medications. The internal medicine clinic attended to 125 individuals with conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Meanwhile, the pediatric clinic examined 270 children, ensuring their health needs were met.

The emergency department was busy with 297 patients seeking urgent care. Dental services were provided to 183 individuals, while the gynecology clinic catered to 182 women. The ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinic treated 57 patients for issues such as sinusitis and tonsillitis.

Ophthalmology services were offered to 51 patients who also received necessary medications. The cardiology clinic saw 27 patients, while diagnostic radiology conducted examinations for 25 individuals. These specialised services ensured comprehensive care for various health concerns.

A total of 2,538 laboratory tests were performed on 300 patients, highlighting the extensive diagnostic support provided. Additionally, 128 X-rays were taken for 90 patients to aid in accurate diagnoses. These efforts underscore KSrelief's commitment to thorough medical evaluations.

The vaccination clinic administered vaccines to 76 patients, totalling 212 doses. Chronic medications were dispensed to 194 individuals, ensuring ongoing treatment for long-term conditions. This proactive approach helped maintain the health of those with chronic illnesses.

Pharmacy and Health Education

The pharmacy played a crucial role by recording 1,591 prescriptions during this period. Meanwhile, the health education department supported 80 beneficiaries through awareness initiatives. These efforts aimed to enhance understanding of health issues among camp residents.

Diagnostic radiology served an additional group of 25 patients, while rehabilitation medicine assisted 43 individuals in their recovery processes. Laboratory tests increased significantly with 2,848 conducted for 290 patients alongside performing 178 X-rays for another group of 121 patients.

Comprehensive Care and Rehabilitation

Medications for chronic diseases reached a larger number of people this time around with distribution to 276 patients. The awareness and education department expanded its reach by assisting an additional group of beneficiaries numbering at least up to ninety-four persons.
