Over 15,000 Benefit From KSrelief's Measles Vaccination Effort In Yemen
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has prioritised the health sector in needy countries, particularly Yemen, due to its critical importance. As part of its efforts to support the health sector and improve medical services in Yemen, KSrelief conducted a measles vaccination and pregnant women survey campaign in several districts from April 29.
This campaign targeted the districts of Midi, Haradh, Abs, and Hiran in Hajjah Governorate, as well as Razih District in Saada Governorate. A total of 15,384 individuals benefited from this initiative, which addressed the severe threat posed by measles, especially to children's lives amid Yemen's humanitarian crisis.

KSrelief collaborated with the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population to execute the project through three main activities. The first activity involved organising a measles vaccination campaign for children under 18. Seventeen healthcare workers were deployed at various health centres and clinics, including Al-Jada Health Center and the Emergency Center for Infectious Diseases.
Additionally, a medical clinic was established in Razih Camp in Saada Governorate. Seven mobile field teams were dispatched to cover approximately 70 areas and villages across the targeted districts.
Awareness Campaign
The second activity focused on conducting an awareness campaign among all population groups. Brochures and posters were distributed to explain the nature of measles, its symptoms, prevention methods, how to handle suspected cases, and the importance of vaccination. Community members were encouraged to get vaccinated through these educational materials.
Surveying Pregnant Women
The third activity involved surveying the number of pregnant women in the targeted districts. These women were monitored and encouraged to get early immunisation for their children. The survey aimed to gather documented statistics to facilitate proper reproductive health planning, assess the health status of pregnant mothers, and identify their needs.
Comprehensive Healthcare Efforts
All these efforts are part of KSrelief's comprehensive healthcare projects aimed at assisting the people of Yemen. By carrying out these initiatives, KSrelief aims to bolster the Yemeni medical sector and provide much-needed support during these challenging times.
