KSrelief's Masam Project Clears Thousands Of Explosives In Yemen
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's Masam Project, dedicated to clearing explosives in Yemen, successfully removed 2,474 explosive devices during the second week of September. This included 2,439 unexploded ordnances, 28 anti-tank mines, six anti-personnel mines, and one improvised explosive device (IED).
In Aden Governorate, the Masam team cleared 2,372 unexploded ordnances. In Hodeidah, they removed three unexploded ordnances, one anti-personnel mine, and one anti-tank mine in Hays district. Additionally, they cleared one anti-tank mine in Al-Khokha district.

In Lahij Governorate's Al-Wahet district, the team cleared 14 unexploded ordnances. They also removed three anti-tank mines and three unexploded ordnances in Al-Madaribah district. Meanwhile, in Marib Governorate's Raghwan district, they cleared two anti-tank mines, one unexploded ordnance, and one IED.
The Masam team also removed one unexploded ordnance in Harib district and five unexploded ordnances in Al-Madinah district. In Marib district itself, they cleared 20 anti-tank mines. In Shabwah Governorate's Ain district, two anti-personnel mines were removed.
In Taiz Governorate's Dhubab district, the team cleared 29 unexploded ordnances and one anti-tank mine. They also removed three anti-tank mines in Mandab district and 11 unexploded ordnances in Al-Makha district.
Total Explosives Removed
The total number of explosives removed by the Masam project now stands at 460,951. These explosives were indiscriminately planted across various regions in Yemen, posing a significant threat to innocent civilians including children, women, and the elderly.
This ongoing effort highlights the critical work being done to ensure the safety of Yemeni citizens by removing these dangerous devices from their communities.
