KSrelief Launches New Humanitarian Projects To Aid Refugees In Jordan

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, launched humanitarian projects for Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Jordan. The event took place at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Amman.

During the ceremony, Dr. Al Rabeeah expressed gratitude for Jordan's cooperation in supporting Palestinian and Syrian refugees. He praised Jordan's leadership and people for their exemplary care and assistance to these refugees, highlighting their role in promoting regional stability and peace.

Aid for Refugees in Jordan

Among the initiatives announced, KSrelief and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) signed a $12,800,000 agreement to support food security for Syrian refugees in Jordan. This project aims to benefit 50,000 individuals monthly, covering 65% of Al-Zaatari camp's population.

Additionally, a project was initiated to treat cancer patients in Gaza in partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). This initiative, costing $3,615,800, will benefit 150 patients. Another project focuses on caring for Syrian and Jordanian orphans through a partnership with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), costing $1,304,591 and benefiting 1,000 orphans across Jordan.

A framework agreement was also signed for voluntary medical projects providing cochlear implantation and hearing rehabilitation for Palestinian patients in collaboration with Istiklal Hospital. These projects reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting those in need beyond material aid.

Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized that these initiatives are not just about providing material assistance but also sending a message of solidarity and brotherhood. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands ready to support and empower refugees to rebuild their lives and secure a better future," he stated.

Saudi Arabia's Global Humanitarian Efforts

The Kingdom has provided over $5.3 billion to Palestine and host countries for refugees in recent years. KSrelief alone has contributed nearly $480 million. Globally, Saudi Arabia has extended $129.6 billion in relief efforts to 169 countries.

KSrelief has also implemented 2,973 relief projects worth $6.8 billion across 100 countries with the help of 187 partners. Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to delivering its humanitarian message worldwide.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various senior officials including the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan and Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, Non-resident Ambassador-designate to Palestine along with Palestinian ministers and officials.

The Kingdom’s efforts underscore its dedication to humanitarian causes globally while fostering regional stability through compassionate actions towards refugees.
