KSrelief Initiates Food Security Support In Chad For Needy Families
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Center (KSrelief) launched the Food Security Support Project for Chad for 2024 in N'Djamena on Monday. The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Chad Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri and a KSrelief team led by Director of Public Relations and Media Shalhoub Al-Shalhoub. Chadian attendees included the secretary of state for higher education, scientific research and innovation, the secretary general of the Ministry of Social Affairs and National Solidarity, and project beneficiaries from underprivileged families.
In his speech, Al-Shehri highlighted the significant challenges Chad faces in the humanitarian field due to natural factors and crises. He noted that the food aid provided by KSrelief aims to support the neediest groups in Chad. Al-Shehri also praised KSrelief's efforts in supporting needy communities across African countries. Chadian officials expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, for its generous support and praised the brotherly relations between the two nations.

Al-Shalhoub emphasized that the project aims to provide food assistance to needy families in Chad, classified in the third and fourth stages according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification. He mentioned that efforts are ongoing to improve their living standards. The project, with a total cost of SAR16.8 million, plans to distribute 54,855 food baskets, each weighing 65 kilograms, benefiting a total of 121,530 individuals.
The food assistance extended by the Kingdom through KSrelief is part of broader humanitarian efforts by the center in several brotherly and friendly countries worldwide.
