KSrelief Showcases Significant Humanitarian Projects Benefiting Yemen At Saudi Yemeni Business Council In Makkah

Abdullah Al-Zahrani, Director of the Jeddah Branch of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), highlighted significant humanitarian efforts in Yemen during the Saudi Yemeni Business Council. The event took place at the Makkah Chamber, where Al-Zahrani discussed KSrelief's extensive work since its inception, including 3,135 projects in 105 countries, with a total value surpassing $7.144 billion.

Yemen has been a primary beneficiary of KSrelief's initiatives, receiving 62.74% of the aid, which amounts to over $4.482 billion. Among the notable projects is the Masam Landmine Clearance Project, which has successfully removed 473,258 mines and explosive remnants from conflict areas. This effort has cleared more than 63 million square meters of land in Yemen, safeguarding countless lives.

KSrelief Highlights Humanitarian Work in Yemen

The Artificial Limbs Project is another vital initiative providing free assistance to amputees in Yemen. This project has reached 25,340 individuals, offering essential support to those affected by conflict-related injuries. Additionally, KSrelief runs a program focused on rehabilitating children recruited or impacted by war in Yemen.

This child rehabilitation program aims to reintegrate affected children into society by facilitating school enrollment and offering psychological and social support. It has directly and indirectly benefited 61,090 people. These efforts are crucial for helping children regain normalcy in their lives after experiencing conflict.

During the council meeting, Al-Zahrani engaged with business leaders from Saudi Arabia and Yemen to discuss enhancing cooperation and exploring new support avenues for Yemenis. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to make a significant impact on those affected by ongoing challenges.

The Saudi Yemeni Business Council convened from December 22 to 24 under the theme "Saudi Vision and Yemeni Development 2030." Discussions aimed at paving a path toward a brighter future by focusing on investment opportunities and strengthening economic ties between both nations.

Encouraging Joint Economic Ventures

The council serves as a platform for economic initiatives and encourages business leaders from both countries to pursue joint projects supported by Saudi and Yemeni leadership. This collaboration is expected to enhance economic relations and open new avenues for development in both regions.

Al-Zahrani's participation underscored the significance of joint efforts in creating meaningful change for those affected by conflict in Yemen. By fostering cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, these initiatives aim to improve lives and contribute positively to regional stability.
