KSrelief Initiates Food Security Support Project In Pakistan For 2024-2025 Benefiting Over One Million People

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated a food security project in Pakistan for 2024–2025. The launch event was held at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad, attended by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Pakistan's Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Acting Director of KSrelief's Pakistan Branch Abdullah Al-Baqami, and other officials.

As part of this initiative, 147,500 food baskets will be distributed across various provinces including Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, and Kashmir. Each basket weighs 95 kilograms and contains essential items to support a family for one month. This effort aims to benefit approximately 1,032,500 individuals.

KSrelief Launches Food Security Project in Pakistan

Ambassador Al-Malki highlighted that the project aligns with directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. It reflects Saudi Arabia's steadfast support for Pakistan. He noted that KSrelief undertakes numerous initiatives to aid families in need, especially in flood-affected areas.

Minister Hussain expressed gratitude on behalf of Pakistan's government and people for Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts. He emphasized that this project is part of KSrelief's continuous commitment to assisting Pakistani families facing food insecurity due to disasters.

The project will be executed in partnership with Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other collaborators. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian efforts through KSrelief to support countries globally.

Acting Director Al-Baqami stressed that KSrelief's mission extends beyond disaster response. The center aims to alleviate food insecurity and improve nutrition among affected communities. "KSrelief seeks to make a tangible, positive impact on the lives of those in need," he stated.

This initiative contributes significantly to resilience and stability within Pakistani communities affected by various challenges. It underscores the Kingdom’s dedication to providing relief and supporting nations worldwide through comprehensive humanitarian efforts.
