KSrelief Shelter Camp In Gaza City Supports Returning Families Amid Devastation

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has expanded its relief work in the Gaza Strip by opening a new shelter camp in Gaza City. The move supports families whose homes were destroyed and who are returning after displacement to central and southern areas.

This latest step falls within the Saudi Popular Campaign to Support the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip. The initiative aims to provide urgent humanitarian assistance, with a focus on housing, food support and basic needs for civilians affected by large-scale damage.

The shelter camp was established in the Tel Al-Hawa neighbourhood, which is among the hardest-hit parts of Gaza City. Many residents have gone back to severely damaged streets where housing and essential infrastructure are lacking, making organised shelter a crucial requirement for daily survival and stability.

The Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, acting as KSrelief’s implementing partner in the Gaza Strip, managed the on-site setup of the camp. The centre also distributed food baskets to families, helping to ease immediate shortages and support basic nutrition as people begin to resettle in their original communities.

According to KSrelief, the impact of this shelter camp goes beyond providing tents and supplies. The support helps families remain near their former homes, protects their dignity, and reduces the psychological and social pressures linked to repeated displacement and the loss of neighbourhood ties.

Beneficiary families expressed appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, for the continued humanitarian support delivered through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre. They stated that these efforts strengthened their sense of safety after displacement and offered practical help for recovery in very difficult living conditions.

KSrelief confirmed that this project forms part of a wider series of humanitarian programmes in the Gaza Strip. These efforts highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to assist the Palestinian people during crises, through coordinated relief operations that address shelter, food security and essential services.
