KSrelief Supports Sri Lanka With 300 Tons Of Dates Donation To WFP
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully delivered 300 tons of dates to the World Food Program (WFP) in Sri Lanka. The delivery ceremony took place at the Saudi Embassy headquarters in Colombo, attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani and a KSrelief team.
Gerard Rebello, Deputy Country Director of WFP Sri Lanka, signed the delivery memorandum for the shipment. This consignment will be distributed to over 200,000 people in Sri Lanka, providing much-needed relief to families in need.

Ambassador Al-Qahtani expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. He noted that this effort reflects Saudi Arabia's humanitarian role in assisting brotherly and friendly nations.
Al-Qahtani also commended KSrelief for its diligent follow-up and direct supervision of humanitarian programs and projects. These initiatives aim to alleviate the suffering of those in need, demonstrating the Kingdom's commitment to global humanitarian efforts.
Gerard Rebello highlighted Saudi Arabia as one of the largest donors to the WFP. He expressed his gratitude for this generous contribution, which is part of a broader donation from the Kingdom to the WFP. This donation will benefit several countries as part of programs implemented by the Saudi government to assist families in various regions worldwide.
