KSrelief Prioritises Children With Over $1.25 Billion Investment In Humanitarian Projects
Universal Children’s Day, observed on November 20 annually, highlights the global commitment to children's rights. This day emphasises the importance of education, health, and protection from violence for children as outlined in international agreements. Saudi Arabia plays a significant role in these efforts through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), focusing on humanitarian and developmental initiatives for children.
Since its inception, KSrelief has initiated 1,103 projects aimed at children across various sectors. These projects have cost over $1.25 billion and aim to improve children's lives by ensuring access to education and care in safe environments. A notable effort includes contributing more than $500 million to protect 370 million children annually from polio, marking one of the largest global humanitarian initiatives.

The center has implemented several specialised projects for children in crisis zones. In Yemen, KSrelief has rehabilitated former child soldiers by reintegrating them into schools and offering psychological support to them and their families. Additionally, the "Saudi Hearing" program for cochlear implants is a major volunteer initiative that provides auditory rehabilitation in multiple countries.
KSrelief also manages the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, which is recognised globally for its medical achievements. To date, 67 successful separation surgeries have been performed on twins from 28 different countries. This program stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to advanced medical care for children worldwide.
In other areas of humanitarian work, KSrelief has executed extensive child-support projects. These include food security programs in regions like Gaza, Pakistan, and Somalia aimed at protecting children and women from malnutrition. The center has also carried out 53 educational projects that enhance learning environments by providing school supplies in various countries.
Health initiatives are another cornerstone of KSrelief's work with 472 health projects completed so far. These include treating children locally or transporting them to Saudi Arabia for specialised care. The center supports pediatric hospitals with advanced equipment and conducts major campaigns against diseases benefiting millions globally.
Commitment to Universal Children's Rights
KSrelief joins the global community in celebrating Universal Children’s Day, reinforcing its belief that nurturing human potential starts in childhood. The center upholds that caring for and protecting children is an essential human right applicable to all children everywhere without discrimination.
