KSGAAL Launches Scientific Program In Brazil To Enhance Arabic Language Education
The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has initiated a scientific programme in Brazil, running until 9 November. This effort involves collaboration with various educational institutions focused on the Arabic language. Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Secretary General of KSGAAL, acknowledged the support from Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and KSGAAL Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Al-Washmi highlighted KSGAAL's dedication to advancing the Arabic language both locally and internationally. The programme aims to spread Arabic and improve its teaching, especially for non-native speakers. It also supports Saudi Arabia's global efforts in serving Arabic language sciences by training teachers to enhance their teaching skills and improve student learning outcomes.

A key component of the programme is the "Forum on Arabic Language and Culture" at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Al-Washmi will participate in this event, which includes lectures by KSGAAL experts and university faculty members. Topics will cover the interaction between Arabic and global languages, particularly Portuguese, as well as the history and achievements of Arabic studies at the university.
The forum will also explore the global status of Arabic language teaching and its history in Brazil since its introduction in the 18th century. Additionally, KSGAAL's initiatives to support and promote Arabic will be discussed, using the Hamzah test as a case study. Participants will visit one of Brazil's oldest centres for teaching Arabic at the university.
The programme offers three courses designed to teach Arabic to non-native speakers: "Enhancing 21st-Century Skills in Teaching Arabic," "Enhancing 21st-Century Skills in Learning Arabic at the Beginner Level," and "Enhancing 21st-Century Skills in Learning Arabic at the Advanced Level." These courses aim to equip learners with essential skills for mastering the language effectively.
A second "Forum on Arabic Language and Culture" is planned in collaboration with the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS) in Sao Paulo. This event will further extend discussions on promoting Arabic language education and cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of the Arabic language worldwide through education and cultural engagement.
