KSGAAL Concludes Arabic Language Month Program In France To Enhance Arabic Education
The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) recently wrapped up its Arabic Language Month initiative in France. This program, which started on October 7, took place in Paris, Lyon, and Tourcoing. It featured educational activities designed to improve Arabic language curricula, enhance teacher performance, and bolster the presence of Arabic in educational settings.
Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, KSGAAL Secretary-General, acknowledged the support from Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and KSGAAL Chairman of the Board of Trustees. This backing aligns with the Human Capability Development Program's goals under Saudi Vision 2030. The program included visits to French educational institutions offering Arabic programs and meetings with associations promoting the language.

In collaboration with the Arab World Institute, several scientific activities were organized. These included discussions on evaluating Arabic teachers for non-native speakers and integrating technology in teaching Arabic. A symposium highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to teach Arabic globally and examined bilingualism's challenges and opportunities in France.
The program also featured two scientific papers. The first paper discussed the "Hamza Test to Measure Arabic Language Proficiency," detailing its criteria and application methods. The second paper introduced KSGAAL's digital platforms supporting the Arabic language. Training courses were provided for teachers and learners, focusing on active learning strategies and listening skills development.
A scientific competition named "Recitation" was held for non-native speakers in France as part of the educational activities. Participants from various French universities competed under specific criteria set by a judging committee to ensure fairness. Winners were duly recognized for their achievements.
A symposium titled "Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers" was organized with the Saudi Cultural Attaché's collaboration. During this event, two books were launched: "100 Questions about the Arabic Language" (French version) and "The Reality of the Arabic Language in France: History, Education, and Orientalism." These books explore topics such as the perception of Arabic in France and its integration into French education.
Global Outreach Efforts
KSGAAL aims to highlight its role in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers through this program while showcasing Saudi Arabia's efforts to promote the language worldwide. The initiative is part of KSGAAL's "Scientific Programs on Teaching Arabic" project, which has been implemented in countries like Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, India, and Brazil.
The execution of this program underscores KSGAAL's strategic role in supporting projects related to teaching Arabic globally. It seeks to build cooperative relationships with stakeholders involved in Arabic education worldwide, enhancing awareness about the language and facilitating its teaching both inside and outside Saudi Arabia.
