Saudi Arabia Leads Arab Efforts To Resolve Gaza Conflict, Ambassador Reveals
At a pivotal meeting in Manama, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar, addressed Arab delegates and senior officials during the preparatory session for the foreign ministers of the 33rd regular Arab Summit. Ambassador Al-Matar underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting key Arab issues throughout its tenure as the president of the 32nd Summit, amidst the ongoing, highly volatile regional and international challenges confronting the Arab world.
Al-Matar highlighted the severe trials facing Palestine, stating, "Our meeting today comes at a difficult time of aggression and injustice that our Palestinian brothers are going through." He emphasized that the Palestinian cause remains a paramount concern in Saudi Arabia's foreign policy agenda. The nation, in collaboration with its Arab counterparts, has been actively involved in diplomatic endeavors aimed at halting the conflict in the Gaza Strip, safeguarding civilians, facilitating humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, and advocating for international recognition of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with east Al-Quds as its capital.

The ambassador further elaborated on Saudi Arabia's efforts during its presidency to foster unity and cooperation among Arab states to address crises in Yemen, Sudan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, and Somalia. These efforts were geared towards promoting peace and security both regionally and internationally, ultimately serving the interests and preserving the rights of Arab peoples.
Al-Matar expressed his belief in the region's vast potential and wealth, which he argued could enable it to surmount current crises and achieve a leading position on the global stage. However, he noted that realizing this potential necessitates a unified Arab effort to bolster cooperation across economic, cultural, and developmental sectors.
The ambassador's statements underscore Saudi Arabia's proactive role and dedication to addressing critical issues facing the Arab world. Through collaborative action and diplomatic engagement, the Kingdom aims to navigate through complex circumstances to ensure peace, security, and prosperity for all Arab nations.
