Knowledge Summit 2025 Celebrates Success With Over 35,000 Attendees In Dubai
The 10th Knowledge Summit, hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), saw over 35,000 attendees both physically and online. Held in Dubai under the theme ‘Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities,’ it gathered global knowledge leaders to discuss the future shaped by knowledge.
This year's Summit featured diverse discussions on how knowledge can drive sustainable development. It highlighted strategies for empowering communities through advanced technologies, reinforcing Dubai and the UAE's status as a global hub for innovation. The event attracted creative minds and exceptional talent from around the world.

Over 200 speakers shared their insights across 58 sessions, enriching the Summit with varied perspectives. Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, noted that this edition marked a significant milestone in the Summit’s decade-long journey. He stated: "This edition reflects the vision of our wise leadership to position knowledge as a cornerstone of future-building."
Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, praised the Summit’s high standards. He remarked: "The Summit’s discussions highlighted the significance of transitioning to a knowledge- and data-driven economy." This transition is crucial for addressing global challenges and improving quality of life.

Global Knowledge Index Results
The Global Knowledge Index (GKI) 2025 results were unveiled at the Summit. Switzerland topped the rankings globally, followed by Singapore and Sweden. In the Arab region, the United Arab Emirates led, with Saudi Arabia second and Qatar third. The GKI serves as a benchmark for assessing countries’ knowledge performance.
Jamal bin Huwaireb emphasised that this edition created an exceptional space for dialogues on emerging trends in knowledge markets. He added that it focused on data, innovation, and modern technologies supporting sustainable development. The achievements of this edition propel MBRF's mission to build knowledge-based societies.
