Global Firms To Design King Salman Airport Expansion For Saudi Vision 2030
King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC), a Public Investment Fund entity aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, has announced strategic partnerships with four prominent local and international firms. These collaborations aim to transform King Salman International Airport into a major hub for tourism, travel, and transportation in Saudi Arabia and the broader region.
Award-winning architecture firm Foster + Partners will design the airport’s master plan. This plan spans 57 square kilometers and includes multiple terminals, six runways, and a multi-asset real estate area. The design aims to capture Riyadh’s essence and reflect Saudi culture, providing travelers with a unique experience.

International engineering firm Jacobs will offer specialist consultancy services for the detailed master plan and new runway designs. Their expertise will be crucial in ensuring the airport meets international standards.
Mace, a leading consulting and construction company, will implement global best practices, innovations, and advanced methodologies throughout all planning and construction stages. This approach aims to ensure efficiency and high standards in the development process.
Nera, a Saudi company specializing in technical and operational aviation solutions, will oversee airspace design. They will enhance air traffic efficiency and improve operations using the latest technologies.
Commitment to Vision 2030
KSIADC Acting CEO Marco Mejia stated: "We are committed to delivering an airport which will be seen as the benchmark in the world of aviation. It will provide the national and international connectivity the city of Riyadh needs to meet and drive the business, trade and tourism growth set out in Vision 2030."
The partnerships with these world-class companies are considered essential for transforming King Salman International Airport into an exceptional destination. The goal is to offer travelers a seamless and enjoyable experience.
Unveiling of Master Plan
The airport's master plan was unveiled in November 2022 by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. As Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund, his involvement underscores the project's significance.
These collaborations mark a significant step forward in developing King Salman International Airport. By integrating local talent with international expertise, KSIADC aims to create a new passenger experience that aligns with Saudi Vision 2030.
