King Salman International Airport Development Company Partners With Bechtel To Build Three New Terminals

King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC), owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has partnered with Bechtel to enhance King Salman International Airport in Riyadh. This collaboration was formalised during the Saudi–US Investment Forum. The agreement involves Bechtel managing the creation of three new terminals, including a commercial airline terminal, Terminal 6, and a private aviation terminal with maintenance facilities.

Marco Mejia, Acting CEO of KSIADC, highlighted the project's adherence to schedule for completing essential infrastructure and building tasks. He stated, "Our company is proceeding according to schedule to complete various executive works for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring the airport is ready to welcome travelers as soon as possible." The selection of Bechtel underscores a commitment to advancing aviation infrastructure through collaboration with a firm boasting over 120 years of global expertise.

New Terminals Planned for King Salman Airport

The new terminals will aim for LEED Platinum certification, showcasing KSIADC's dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly solutions. Mejia added, "The three new terminals will be designed to meet LEED Platinum certification requirements, reflecting King Salman International Airport Development Company's adherence to the highest global sustainability standards and to green solutions."

Darren Mort, President of Bechtel’s Infrastructure Business, expressed enthusiasm about participating in this significant project. He remarked, "The KSIA project represents one of the world's most prominent aviation projects currently under development. We are delighted to be part of this inspiring project and to contribute our previous experience from major airports worldwide in realizing the airport's vision and delivering an exceptional, unprecedented travel experience globally."

This partnership aims to elevate Riyadh's airport facilities by integrating advanced design and construction practices.
