King Salman International Airport Signs MoU With Saudi Tourism Authority To Enhance Travel And Tourism Integration

King Salman International Airport (KSIA), a company under the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA). This agreement aims to boost domestic tourism, improve air connectivity, and enhance the traveller experience, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's goals. The collaboration seeks to unify national efforts in transport and tourism through various joint initiatives.

The MoU focuses on global marketing, event organisation, data analytics sharing, and expanding destinations and air routes. These efforts aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for tourism, travel, and logistics. By integrating these sectors, the agreement seeks to improve the overall travel and tourism experience within the Kingdom.

Key initiatives include the "Hafawa" program and increased cooperation with airlines to expand seat capacity. This will strengthen connections between KSIA and various tourism destinations both domestically and internationally. Marco Mejia, Acting CEO of KSIA, expressed that this MoU is crucial for creating an integrated ecosystem linking transport infrastructure with Saudi Arabia’s national tourism identity. "Far beyond a mere transit point, KSIA will be a remarkable gateway reflecting the cultural and human spirit of Saudi Arabia," he stated.

This initiative underscores KSIA's dedication to forming strategic partnerships that promote sustainable growth. It also aims to enhance Saudi Arabia’s global connectivity, establishing it as a central hub in future travel and tourism landscapes. The collaboration with STA is seen as a step towards seamlessly integrating transport and tourism sectors in Riyadh.
